Dr. Matthew Brennecke is a Board-Certified and Registered Naturopathic Doctor in the state of Colorado. He grew up in the suburbs of Seattle, WA, where up until about the age of 5, his life consisted of primarily three things: baseball, grilled cheese, and Big Wheel. When his Big Wheel and baseball aspirations didn’t pan out, he decided to consider other options, but first, he had to do some soul searching in many different parts of the country. He has lived all over the place, including Virginia, Florida, Louisiana, New York, Arizona, and finally, Colorado, where he found his love of the outdoors. He graduated from Colorado State University with a major in Social Work. He then moved out east to New York, where he attended Columbia University earning a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work, working primarily with severe and persistent mental illness. After seeing pharmaceutical medication given out like candy, he wondered if there were alternatives and found Naturopathic Medicine and knew that was the road he wanted to travel.

Dr. Brennecke earned a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences (SCNM) in Tempe, AZ, where he was trained as a primary care physician. While Arizona was a great learning experience, he longed to return back to Fort Collins to make it his permanent home.

While not practicing medicine, Dr. Brennecke can usually be found biking around Fort Collins or in the mountains hiking, camping, snowboarding, studying natural medicine, writing health articles, and exploring Colorado with his two dogs.
